Collection: Shoe Game Project

Shoes are defined as just an external covering for the human foot. I see them as an expressive culture, a symbol of our individuality and free will. Since 2018 I have been photographing the lower extremity of friends, families and total strangers in an attempt to separate the style aspect of footwear from the cultural aspect. Shoes are a conversation starter and not just an artifact of clothing.

Every image triggers a question in our minds. At the same time we may intentionally or unintentionally make assumption on the subject just from his or her shoes. So let's take the time to analyze ourselves, our thought process and our definition of each other when all you have is an image of someones legs, pants and most importantly, their shoes.
